We stayed at the Four Seasons Resort and loved it!  Our resort is located at the bottom of Jackson Hole mountain so you are able to walk outside and are just a few steps from the ski lifts, ski/snowboard rentals and a shop for extra gear!

We were very impressed with the staff, room and cleanliness of the resort. We were required to wear masks everywhere (except while dining/inside of our room) and there were temperature machines located at the entrance of the hotel lobby and before we walked into all restaurants so we felt very safe!

We purchased the package which included breakfast each morning at Westbank Grill & highly recommend! Here’s the Westbank Grill Menu & our favorite breakfast dish was the cowboy croissant.

The resort also has 2 amazing restaurants — Handle Bar & Ascent Lounge. You do not have to stay at the resort to access the restaurants. While skiing Jackson Hole Mountain, we recommend taking your lunch break at Handle Bar and Shaun specifically recommends the Teewinot Tonic (non alcoholic) for a refreshing juice!

We also coordinated with the concierge desk to book all our activities – this was so helpful!

DAY 1: SNOWMOBILE TOUR THROUGH YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK. We went on a private snowmobiling tour with Scenic Safaris (phone number: 307-734-8898) through Yellowstone National Park. They only offered private tours with the pandemic but normally they have group tours available. Either way, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND this experience! We did the full day tour (8am-3pm). We stopped at Lewis Falls, Biscuit Basin, witnessed Old Faithful erupt and took in numerous breathtaking views! You just wear your normal ski/snowboard gear and they provide the machines, snowmobiling suits and a packed lunch!

DAY 2: SKIING & SNOWBOARDING JACKSON HOLE MOUNTAIN. I grew up skiing in Northern MI and Shaun has been snowboarding only a handful of times (never out west) and we both thought the mountain was very challenging! We took our time and stayed on the blue and double blue runs! Trail map below:

DAY 3: WILDLIFE SAFARI TOUR. We did a safari tour with Jackson Hole Wildlife Safari. Our tour guide picked us up and we drove to the National Elk Refuge and a few other locations to see bald eagles, mountain horn sheep, elk, bison, we tried to spot an otter (we were not successful) but we did see a moose! We did the half day tour and felt that was plenty of time. We were in the car quite a bit so a full day of driving would have made me drowsy. 🙂

That night we ate at a delicious Italian Restaurant, II Village Osteria located in Hotel Terra (walking distance from our resort). I ate the Lemon Herb Chicken and Shaun ate the Buffalo Tenderloin — we both loved our meals and the wine!

DAY 4: JACKSON SQUARE. We had a driver drop us off in downtown Jackson for a few hours to explore Jackson Square. We enjoyed visiting the art galleries, lots of small shops and found the cutest bakery, Persephone Bakery (instagram worthy!).

We were hoping to try The Local for lunch or dinner but were unable to make a reservation (many folks recommended this spot to us!). That evening, we went to dinner then stopped into the Million Dollar Cowboy. The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar is located on the town square in the heart of Jackson. The bar/venue is internationally famous for its western dancing and live entertainment. We both enjoyed a drink and listening to the band! It was a sight to see and we recommend for a fun night out! Due to the pandemic, tables were distanced and EVERYONE had to remain seated the entire time.

DAY 5: THE PROPOSAL!! Shaun and I took the Jackson Hole Tram up to the very top of Rendezvous Mountain (over 10,000 ft in the air). We ditched our ski/snowboard gear because we were told only experienced & professionals skiiers and snowboarders should ski/snowboard down. When we got to the top of the mountain, we were surrounded by the clouds and it was so BEAUTIFUL! You truly feel on top of the world! We were in complete AWE. Shaun took me to a quiet spot close to the edge of the mountain and that’s where he asked me to marry him and I said YES!! This day was the most magical day and a memory we will always cherish. There is also a cabin, Corbet’s Cabin at the top of the mountain where you can grab a waffle and coffee. To be honest, we both blacked out and completely forgot to grab a waffle HA! However, they are known for “Top of the World Waffles”! Then you can take the tram right back down the mountain! Forever grateful for this once in a lifetime adventure and this amazing man of mine.

DAY 6: DOG SLEDDING. One of our FAVORITE adventures from the trip was dog sledding with Call of the Wyld Dogsled Tours! This was also a 5 min walk from JH Four Seasons. The owner and team were so friendly! We had so much fun meeting the dogs & playing with them before our tour. Then we did a 1 hour tour on a trail through the trees and into a vast meadow along the base of the Teton range. We stopped twice to get out, stretch our legs and take some photos. We highly recommend this tour!

Final thoughts… we quickly learned that while in Jackson Hole, you do feel like you’re in a hole because you ALWAYS have a view of the mountains! If you’re looking to go somewhere remote and surrounded by God’s beautiful masterpiece/nature, this is the place for YOU! There are so many adventures both in winter & summer to partake in! As always, feel free to email or comment any questions. Happy to answer questions and share more about experience if needed!

Lots of love,

Sarah Jude
